Dr Shaw is a member of the Faculty of Psychotherapy, Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists.

Dr Shaw received his pre-medical education at Oxford University. He attained a Degree in Biochemistry with Honours, and a Masters Degree by research, in the field of Neurobiology. He held a Scholarship (Exhibition) at Magdalen College Oxford as an undergraduate.

He was awarded Proxima Accessit in the Christopher Welch Scholarship, a University-wide examination for Oxford final year Biological Science students. He won a Medical Research Council of Great Britain Scholarship for his post-graduate research.

He went on to study Medicine at the University of Queensland. His residency and Psychiatry fellowship training was in Brisbane.

Dr Shaw is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists.

He is committed to keeping up to date with the latest clinical research and evidence-based best practice. He continues to develop and refine his therapeutic skills.
